InterCAP – Third International Course on Child Abuse Paediatrics
Dear Colleague,

On behalf of the planning committee of the International Course on Child Abuse Paediatrics (Inter-CAP), we are delighted to offer the upcoming programme in Vienna, Austria, 3-6 June 2019. The curriculum is designed for all health professionals who provide health care to children.

A significant amount of content regarding many forms of child maltreatment and neglect is presented at the course. Once again, we are proud to have recruited a stellar international faculty of experts in the field, who have been selected on their demonstrated ability to engage colleagues. The teaching will include didactic talks, hands-on workshops and small group discussions with international delegates. The four-day curriculum has been designed and further developed through the involvement of faculty and delegates from the previous courses, 2015 in Sweden, and 2017 in the Netherlands. By request of previous delegates who have expressed interest in returning for the 2019 course, we are pleased to offer in Vienna an elective advanced track with breakout sessions on specific topics to be presented by our faculty.

The course is endorsed by the Ray E. Helfer Society, and is intended to cover the core competencies expected of health professionals in this field, including the clinical assessment and evaluation of physical, sexual, emotional abuse and neglect. The Department of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine of the Medical University of Vienna will be hosting Inter-CAP2019 with sponsorship by the Austrian Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine (ÖGKJ).

So, if you are interested in an information-packed curriculum designed for up-close interactions with an outstanding teaching faculty and with opportunities for networking across borders and across the continuum of experiences, Inter-CAP2019 is for you.

We would like to conclude with a brief note on the course fees.  We recognise that many of us work in situations with limited budgets for international professional education, and we aim to keep our fees as affordable as possible. Fees are discounted for delegates from low-income countries and for students. Please note that our distinguished faculty volunteer their time and receive no honoraria beyond accommodations and travel. Any proceeds for Inter-CAP are used as seed funding for the next course.

We hope to see you at the Hotel Savoyen Vienna in June 2019!
